Ogigahama Beach
Ogigahama beach is located right in the city of Tanabe within easy walking distance of the JR Kii-Tanabe station. A skateboard park and basketball hoops have recently been added to this recreational area. This a great place to have a drink in the evening to relax and enjoy the sunset. Some festivals and events are held at this ocean side location.

Shirarahama Beach
Shirarahama beach is the largest beach in the area and is located in the Shirahama resort village. The beautiful white sands have been imported from Australia. There are many hotels in Shirahama. It is very popular to stay in Tanabe (to take advantage of inexpensive accommodations and the excellent variety of restaurants and pubs) and make a day trip to Shirahama. Shirahama is also famous for its onsen.
